Beware! CIMB E-Voucher Scam!
Today I got an e-mail titled “CIMB BANK BERHAD has given you an E-Gift Voucher”, and when I open the e-mail, this is what I saw:

woot! MYR 500 for almost not using their banking services!
But there’s a few things that are very peculiar about this (let’s not look into the geeky thingie first):
- First, I’m not an active CIMB customer. The last time I was active is 2005, because my education loan is delivered through that account
- Second, I don’t have much cash saved in my CIMB account
- Lastly, it’s not even my birthday
On the geeky part, the links in that e-mail all pointed to a suspicious-looking IP address. So I do a quick lookup:

Ah, so it’s definitely a scam then! Guys, beware of this scam and don’t fall for it!
