50 Things that I am grateful for

This thought just occurred to me. There are many seemingly petty things out there that our generation takes for granted. I know the list can extend far, far beyond just 50, but I think this is a start. This list is not in order. I am writing them as they come across my mind.
50 Things that I am grateful for
- My friends. Through thick and thin. Stiff and limp.
- The Internet (forever indebted to the Internet. Geeks are no longer losers in social life. In fact, we have more social links now)
- The advancement of internal combustion engine (I realized how easy for us to drive cars these days compared to these dudes in WWI)
- Advancement of mobile telecommunication technologies. Internet on the go
- Gas Lighters. I hate matches
- Liquid Crystal Displays. Finally my eyes can rest
- Steve Jobs. Many hate him too. But he have excellent presentations
- Spectacles. I’d be blind without it
- Coffee
- Chocolate
- Chocolate-chip cookies
- Good Music
- Advancement of Digital Single-Lens Reflex cameras. No more spending in films!
- Refrigerator
- Microwave Oven
- Seasonal Sales. I hate spending on apparels
- Credit Cards and Debit Cards
- Rapidshare
- Bit Torrent technology
- Elevators
- Escalators
- Travelators
- Ruby on Rails. I’m lucky I don’t have to code websites in FORTRAN
- Open-source Softwares
- Li-ion Batteries
- Advancement of Mobile Phones
- Electric Kettles
- Digital Passports
- Traffic Lights
- Tameable animals. Especially cats.
- Chilled Beer
- Air Asia. Oh yeah cheap flights! Thank you Tony!
- Petronas. I know some hate this company. But I have my reasons
- Cupcakes
- Bill Gates. Many hate him. But he brings the desktop computing forward.
- Instant Noodles
- Canned Drinks
- Condoms. Sex is less fun (for the girl) without this.
- Wireless Fidelity. If you don’t know what this is, it’s obvious that you are taking things for granted
- Electricity. 80% of what I’m grateful for wouldn’t be there without this
- Clean water supply
- Washing Machine
- Wrist watches
- Cinemas
- Fluorescent Lights. Saves energy like nobody’s business
- Global Positioning System
- Bean bags
- Being able to see, listen and speak
