5 Amazingly Addictive Online Comics (that can possibly get you fired)
Let’s be honest. Most of us will wander from websites to websites, blog to blog and one facebook application to another when we’re completely bored at the office, unless, of course, you happen to work in the call center or telemarketer line, which leaves you almost no time to even flinch.
During some of my free times (this is somewhat a tribute to my ex-boss), I do read up some comics that is very addictive. You know, the kind that you can’t get enough of? Here’s some of them (ranked in the order their website loads on my computer).
A bit of warning. Some comics are Not Safe For Work, I will indicate so you do not accidentally click on them and end up losing your future.
1 – Menage A 3

[NSFW] Pronounced “Ménage à trois” (yes it’s French – you might want to click on that phrase to know what it actually means) is a web comic about the guy Gary and his adventures (or lack thereof) with his housemates – two of them was gay, one is a macho girl while the other can turn a straight women into lesbians in 0.39 seconds.
“Set in Montreal, the finest bohemian city in North America, Ma3 follows the lives of comic book geek, Gary and his way-sexier-than-he-is roommates in their Montreal tight-as-a-sandwich apartment; where the walls are so thin there are virtually no barriers between their rooms.” – Excerpt from the website

2 – Candi Comics

Candi is about a girl (named, Candi, obviously) who is an art student and her friends. The comic focused on different theme in different chapters, but mainly focusing on friendship, love and life.
3 – XKCD

XKCD is one of my favorite webcomic when I needed a shot of geekish jokes that span less than one comic page. As the author described it – “A webcomic of romance, sarcasm, math and language”.
4 – Penny Arcade

If you’re a gamer, you will love this series. Here’s some excerpt:
“The strip features Holkins’ and Krahulik’s cartoon alter egos, Tycho Brahe and John Gabriel (“Gabe”) respectively. While often borrowing from the authors’ experiences, Holkins and Krahulik do not treat them as literal avatars or caricatures of themselves. The two characters spend much of their time playing and commenting on computer and video games, which forms the basis of the humor in the strip. Most of the time, Gabe serves the purpose of the comic, and Tycho the comic foil. The strip can feature in-jokes that are explained in the news posts accompanying each comic, written by the authors.”
5 – Dilbert

Ahh, who can forget Scott Adam’s Dilbert? I always find his sarcasm out of this world. What amazes me is that the more I work in the corporate world, the more each and every one of his strip makes sense. In fact, I have actually experienced a lot of resemblance of Dilbert-like experience throughout my career. Especially the “we call it a feature, but actually it’s a bug” experience. Fantastic!
Don’t get too hooked on these awesome comics, I’m not responsible if you lose your job!
