Test Shots
I haven’t really been so serious about photography until recently. I’ve been into photography since I was 15, of when back then I was awarded an SLR 35mm Camera from my old man. Dads sometimes have this one soft spot when they see their kids like to do what they like to. Like, my old man loves photography and when he sees I’m so into it, he got me a cam. It was a Yashica 109mp manual focus SLR (with motorized drive) along with Vitacon 28-210mm f3.5-5.6 lens, with Yashica Flash (can’t recall which model). Nothing really outstanding, but this camera brings me loads and loads of fun (and loads and loads of saving up allowance to process the films afterwards. Haha).
When I entered the University, I still bring the camera around, until the digital camera age started to creeps in. By that time, I got myself a Sony Mavica. Back then in the year 2000, the sensors weren’t great yet. So I opted for Mavica due to its versatility in using easily-obtained floppy disks. However, I picked the wrong model and ended up buying a 0.3megapixel (640 x 480 max) ones. Even with this shortcoming, I really had fun with the camera. In fact, it is still alive today, with the only problem of the dying Lithium battery. Getting a new one of those will set me back a few hundred. Jeez.
Then, I got myself an Olympus C720UZ. One of their earliest Ultra-Zoom series. I didn’t have as much fun with this cam as the first two, mainly because of its buggy firmware. But it did its job well, anyways :). At one point, I was so desperate for cash (I had to live on my own because family was facing some financial crisis) so I sold the camera off to someone, so that I could meet Bebe (this is right before I left MMU for good).
Anyways, to make long story short, I managed to obtain a new digicam from such an interesting way. I wouldn’t tell you how it is but let’s just say a surprising way. The camera is Fuji Finepix S9500. Actually a controversial successor to its previous S7000 (I love S7000!). It doesn’t really have any interesting new features, other than the fact the zooming on this cam is totally manual, of which I love so much.
Enough of the long-winding babble talk, lets talk in bulks of thousands of words shall we? I’m still refreshing my photographic skills, so my photos might not appear to be a great one to you. Nevertheless, I will appreciate comments! (Click on the image to view larger version)

EXCELLENT CALL. :D There is a God out there, and everyday he helps somebody make the right choice.
Should be months before the Fujifilm S5600fd with ISO3200 (and non zig-zaggy ISO1600 ala Fujifilm F30) comes out. Wahahaha.
Fird: Zig-zaggy ISO 1600? You mean the noise reduction is horrible?
…and manual zoom ring makes this an excellent movie recorder! Every other consumer digital video camera hasn’t got that. Major major fun!
Fird: Oh yes. Manual zoom is so much fun!
Yes, in comparison to the Fujifilm F11 on ISO1600, the S9500 looks very zig-zaggy. I’m sure you can fix it though.
Fird: Ah yes, now i get it. Usually I try not to shoot past ISO 800 hehe. Saw the samples of the ISO1600 for s9500 and it looks uhm.. yeah zig zaggy.
I really like the macro shot of the candies. As a matter of fact, I like macro shots in general. When excecuted perfectly, the results always seem out-of-this-world, as if someone stopped a while to take a snapshot of something that people take for granted.
Fird: Yeah, I know what you mean. My personal area of interest in photography is with anything symmetrical. Like the pedestraian bridge image in the Gallery
